SOF Vets Cleared Fallujah—CA Still Won't Let Them Carry
A new House bill would give special operations troops and vets federal carry authority in all 50 states—no blue-state permission slip required.
That absurdity may finally be over.
Congress introduced legislation this week that would grant active-duty special operations personnel and their veteran counterparts nationwide concealed carry authority—valid in all 50 states, full stop. No patchwork of state permits. No blue-state bureaucrat with a clipboard standing between a combat veteran and his right to self-defense.
**These are the people America calls when no one else can do the job.** They cleared rooms in Fallujah. They ran raids in places most Americans can't find on a map. And right now, under current law, a retired Special Forces sergeant can land at LAX and be disarmed by the time he reaches the parking garage.
The bill extends the logic of the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act—LEOSA—which already gives qualified active and retired law enforcement officers a federal carry pass regardless of state lines. Special operations veterans have argued for years, and correctly, that their training dwarfs most police qualifications by every measurable standard. Congress is finally catching up to that reality.
The message to every gun-grabbing governor and AG who thinks a state border erases a combat veteran's Second Amendment rights is now written in proposed federal law: **your agenda doesn't outrank federal authority.**
Sponsors and full bill text are still coming into focus—this one is worth tracking closely as co-sponsors sign on and the text firms up. What's already clear is the principle, the political window, and the stakes.
A pro-2A House majority doesn't come with an unlimited shelf life. If this bill is going to move, the pressure has to be on now.
Call your House representative today. Demand a co-sponsorship. The operators who kept us alive downrange deserve at least this much when they come home.
