Delta Force Can Storm Fallujah—But Can't Carry in California?

Combat vet Congressman Harrigan just dropped a bill to give SOF warriors—SEALs, Green Berets, Raiders—federal carry rights in all 50 states. LEOSA fixed it for cops. Now fix it for tier-one operators.

Congressman Pat Harrigan (NC-10)—a combat veteran himself—just introduced the **Special Operations Forces Concealed Carry Act**, legislation that would grant federal concealed carry authority to active and veteran SOF personnel who meet the same rigorous firearms and marksmanship standards that define the special operations community.

We're talking Delta Force. Navy SEALs. Green Berets. Marine Raiders. The people America sends when everyone else has already failed.

Right now, these operators train more hours with a firearm than most law enforcement officers will log in an entire career—then they come home and have to play state-by-state lottery with their carry rights. Cross the wrong border, and a decade of combat deployments doesn't mean a damn thing.

**That's not a safety policy. That's a national embarrassment.**

Federal law already solved this problem for cops. The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act—LEOSA—gives active and retired law enforcement officers concealed carry authority across all 50 states. It's a reasonable protection, and nobody seriously argues against it.

But here's the gap that nobody in Congress wanted to talk about: a beat officer fresh out of the academy gets federal carry authority coast to coast. A tier-one operator with 10 combat deployments and thousands of hours of weapons training... does not. Harrigan's bill slams that door shut.

There is no coherent argument for the current arrangement. None. You either believe that elite warriors who carried a firearm on behalf of every American deserve that right when they come home—or you don't. Harrigan clearly does.

**The Second Amendment does not expire when a Green Beret takes off his uniform.** Congress needs to act like it doesn't.

**What you can do right now:** Call your House rep. Demand they co-sponsor the Special Operations Forces Concealed Carry Act and push it to the floor. These veterans didn't earn their rights on a form—they earned them on every deployment they survived.

Watch this bill. If it stalls in committee, you'll want to know exactly who killed it—and why.
