Congress: Special Ops & Vets Can Carry Anywhere—No Permission Slip

A new House bill would give America's deadliest warriors the same nationwide carry rights as cops—without begging any state for a permit.

The House has dropped legislation granting nationwide concealed carry authority to active-duty special operations personnel and their veteran counterparts. No state patchwork. No anti-gun governor with a veto pen standing between a Navy SEAL and his right to self-defense. Nationwide. Period.

Here's the insult the current system hands these men and women: Army Special Forces soldiers, Navy SEALs, Marine Raiders, Air Force Special Tactics operators—the most rigorously trained, most thoroughly vetted human beings the U.S. government has ever produced—come home to states like New York or California and are told to *go ask a bureaucrat* before they can carry the same sidearm they took downrange. The state that couldn't find their deployment location on a map gets to decide their rights.

**That is not a gray area. That is a disgrace.**

The bill builds on LEOSA—the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act—which already grants active and retired law enforcement nationwide carry rights. That framework exists. It works. The argument for extending it to cops but not to operators who held higher security clearances, endured more intense psychological screening, and faced deadlier environments than virtually any domestic officer will ever see is not a serious argument. It is a political one.

And veterans already know how that game is played. Failed by the VA. Targeted by ATF's prohibited-person net over minor medical records. Thanked for their service at a campaign rally, then disarmed by the same legislature that printed the yard signs. This bill is a concrete correction to a concrete injustice—and it's long overdue.

**The road isn't clear.** The legislation still must survive committee, clear the Senate, and land on the President's desk. None of that is guaranteed. Anti-gun members of Congress will call it unnecessary, dangerous, or redundant—the same tired playbook they run against every pro-Second Amendment measure, every single time.

They are wrong. The men and women who bled for this country deserve better than that obstruction.

Call your Representative. Tell them this bill is the *floor*, not the ceiling. Every veteran who served this country honorably deserves the right to carry—not just the ones who happened to wear a Special Forces tab.

Watch this one closely. If it dies in committee, you'll know exactly who killed it—and why.
