Bill Would Let Special Forces Vets Carry in All 50 States

A House Republican introduced legislation that would let Special Forces veterans and active-duty operators carry concealed firearms in all 50 states — no anti-gun state politicians standing in the way.

The bill grants nationwide concealed-carry privileges to eligible veterans and active-duty special operations personnel, cutting through the patchwork of state restrictions that currently leave America's most elite warriors legally disarmed the moment they cross the wrong state line.

Consider what that means. Men and women trained to operate behind enemy lines, handle the most sophisticated weapons on the planet, and make split-second life-or-death decisions — stripped of their right to carry a sidearm because some blue-state governor decided his constituents can't be trusted with the Second Amendment.

States like California, New York, New Jersey, and Illinois spent years erecting legal walls specifically designed to prevent law-abiding citizens from exercising their constitutional rights. Those same walls currently apply to Green Berets, Navy SEALs, and Delta Force operators living among civilian populations after serving their country.

Newsweek confirmed the bill overrides state-level restrictions that "can differ significantly from one jurisdiction to another" — a polite way of saying anti-gun legislatures turned concealed carry into a legal minefield for honorable Americans.

If Congress can't muster the votes to pass national concealed carry for every law-abiding citizen — and it should — then protecting the men who stormed terrorist compounds is the absolute floor of acceptable action.
