⚡ Why This Matters to You
Anti-gun lawmakers in blue states are watching every constitutional carry expansion and planning their counter-moves at the federal level — this win proves the momentum is on YOUR side, and it needs to stay there. If you're 18-20 and live in West Virginia, your right to carry just got recognized.
  • If you're 18-20 in West Virginia, monitor the governor's desk — once Morrisey signs HB 4106, you can carry concealed without a permit under state law. Know your local ordinances too.
  • Constitutional carry is now law or pending in the majority of U.S. states — if your state still requires a permit for adults under 21, use this as ammunition (pun intended) to push your legislators.

On the last possible day of the session, March 14th, the West Virginia House concurred with a Senate amendment and passed House Bill 4106 — extending constitutional carry rights to adults aged 18, 19, and 20. No permit. No government permission slip. Just the Second Amendment, applied equally to every adult in the Mountain State.

This is exactly how it's supposed to work. A legal adult can vote, sign a contract, serve in the military, and die for this country — and now in West Virginia, they can carry a firearm to defend themselves without begging a bureaucrat for approval. The legislature recognized what the anti-gun crowd refuses to admit: rights don't come with an age asterisk.

While governors like Spanberger in Virginia, Pritzker in Illinois, and Newsom in California spend their sessions dreaming up new ways to disarm law-abiding citizens, West Virginia just did the opposite. They looked at young adults — the exact demographic most likely to be targeted by violent crime — and said: you have the right to protect yourself. Full stop.

HB 4106 now heads to Governor Patrick Morrisey's desk. He's expected to sign it. When he does, West Virginia will join a growing list of states that trust their citizens more than their government — a list that's getting longer every year no matter how loud the gun-grabbers scream.
