SCOTUS Strips 2A Questions From Only Case It Took

18 Second Amendment petitions hit the April 24 conference table. Justices took one—then surgically cut both gun rights questions before saying yes.

Technically, the justices did grant one petition from the pile. But before accepting it, they surgically removed the two Second Amendment questions it raised—leaving only an unrelated third issue alive.

**That's not judicial restraint. That's a scalpel job.**

One petition, three questions. Two of them were direct challenges to 2A precedent. The Court kept the one that had nothing to do with guns and threw the rest away. The remaining 17 Second Amendment petitions? Unknown or denied status across the board.

Gun owners have been waiting years for SCOTUS to build on *Bruen* and *Rahimi* with clear, binding rulings that lower courts can't wriggle around. Instead, the nine justices in Washington keep finding new ways to look at the ceiling while the circuit courts run wild.

And the lower courts know exactly what they're doing. They are actively working to bury *Bruen*—watering down the historical-tradition test, stacking procedural hurdles, and letting unconstitutional laws breathe another year.

**Every petition SCOTUS refuses is a green light for anti-gun courts to keep those laws on the books.**

California. Illinois. Maryland. New Jersey. Their magazine bans, carry restrictions, and so-called assault-weapons bans all stay in place while the Supreme Court studies its calendar. Real gun owners. Real rights. Real losses—while the justices wait.

The term ends in June. Watch which petitions get relisted, which get denied outright, and whether the Court finds the nerve to take even one clean Second Amendment case before the clock runs out.

Because right now, the people sworn to protect your constitutional rights are letting their opponents do the work for them—one dodged petition at a time.
