SCOTUS Dodges All 18 Second Amendment Cases—Then Guts Another
The Court took one petition from last week's conference, then surgically stripped both 2A questions before accepting it. That's not an accident.
Eighteen cert petitions. Every single one touching the Second Amendment. The justices reviewed them all—and passed on every last one.
That alone would be a gut punch. Then came the twist.
One petition gave the Court three questions to answer. Two were pure Second Amendment. The justices granted the petition—then surgically removed both 2A questions and took only the unrelated third. They didn't miss those questions. **They deleted them.**
That is not oversight. That is a decision.
Gun owners have been waiting years for SCOTUS to follow up *Bruen* and *Rahimi* with real, binding guidance. Lower courts have been running wild in the meantime—applying invented balancing tests, manufacturing fake historical analogues, and upholding bans that *Bruen* should have already vaporized. The justices watch this happen. Conference after conference, they see the circuit chaos their own rulings created.
And still: eighteen cases. Zero grants.
**This is the pattern now.** The Court takes the easy procedural off-ramp, leaves gun owners in legal limbo, and lets anti-gun circuits churn out hostile decisions that harden into binding law across entire jurisdictions. Every denial hands blue-state attorneys general another conference cycle to entrench their bans before SCOTUS ever shows up to stop them.
Every dodge lets another unconstitutional restriction survive another day.
The next conference is already the next opportunity. Watch the docket. Pressure your representatives to demand publicly that the Court do its job. If you're in a circuit still pretending *Bruen* doesn't exist, find a 2A legal organization—FPC, SAF, GOA—and back the cases climbing back up the pipeline right now.
SCOTUS does not move unless it is pushed. So start pushing.
