The published roster gives NRA members a starting point for following the association’s 2027 board election.
  • The announcement lists nominees, not election winners.
  • Eight candidates have petition qualifications, including two also nominated by the committee.

The National Rifle Association has published a list of 33 nominees for its 2027 mail-ballot election of directors. The announcement appeared October 23 in American Rifleman, under the NRA Staff byline.

The roster distinguishes between candidates nominated by the Nominating Committee, candidates qualifying through member petitions, and candidates qualifying through both routes. A single asterisk identifies a petition candidate; two asterisks identify a candidate who qualified through both the committee and petitions.

Counting those markers in the published list yields six petition-only candidates and two candidates qualifying by both routes. That makes eight candidates with petition qualifications among the 33 names. The other 25 names carry neither petition marker.

This is a nomination announcement for the 2027 election, not a report of election winners. Members looking for the candidate roster can consult the official announcement and distinguish the nomination routes using its accompanying key.

The announcement does not provide a ballot mailing date, ballot-return deadline or candidate platforms. This report does not supply those details in their absence. The news here is the published field of nominees and the routes identified in the NRA’s list.
