NJ AG Is Building a Public Glock Owner List. Your Name's on It.

AG Jennifer Davenport is using civil-lawsuit discovery to create the gun registry Trenton can't pass into law—then hand it to the press.

AG Jennifer Davenport is running the oldest trick in the progressive legal playbook: can't get a gun registry through the legislature? Build one through litigation instead.

The subpoenas are attached to a lawsuit former AG Matthew Platkin filed against Glock over a year ago, claiming the company's pistols can be illegally converted to fire automatically. Sympathetic theory. Useful vehicle. **That's all it is.**

Here's the part Trenton is counting on you to miss: New Jersey already holds handgun purchase records for every transaction in the state. Every. Single. One. So why drag dealers back through a decade of Glock sales?

Because state records stay in state files. Civil-lawsuit records become public court documents—and public court documents become tomorrow's front page.

Glassboro dealer Wayne Viden, whose family has run Bob's Little Sport Shop for more than 60 years, told Ammoland he hadn't received a subpoena yet. He didn't need one to see the angle. "New Jersey already has that information," Viden said. Pulling it into litigation serves exactly one purpose: pulling it into the open.

**You've seen this movie before.** In 2012, a New York newspaper published the names and home addresses of every handgun permit holder in Westchester and Rockland counties. Gun owners were targeted. Burglars used the map. The backlash was enormous—and it changed nothing about the left's appetite for exposure operations.

A statewide Glock owner list would make that look like a test run.

NRA-ILA Executive Director John Commerford didn't reach for diplomatic language: "Subpoenaing law-abiding firearm dealers to help build a state gun registry is unconstitutional and utterly outrageous. If New Jersey believes it can trample the Second Amendment and federal law with impunity, they are gravely mistaken."

The NRA says it is prepared to take legal action to stop this—and that response is exactly what this moment demands.

Glock is the best-selling pistol in America. Tens of thousands of New Jersey residents own one legally, registered it lawfully, and did everything their state asked of them. **Every single one of them is now a named target of their own attorney general.**

This is the playbook in plain sight: find a sympathetic legal theory, file suit, weaponize discovery, publish names. Watch the chilling effect spread. Repeat in the next state.

If you're a New Jersey FFL and one of these subpoenas lands on your counter—**do not respond without an attorney.** Contact NRA-ILA immediately at nraila.org. And if you're a Garden State gun owner watching this unfold, understand what Davenport just told you about how she sees you: not as a constituent. As a name she wants in a database she can detonate.

Fight accordingly.
