Everytown Publishes Kill Playbook for National Reciprocity Bill
Bloomberg's machine issues tactical lobbying guide to stop Constitutional Carry Reciprocity Act — read their strategy before they bury the bill
Michael Bloomberg's Everytown for Gun Safety just published a full tactical guide titled "Congress Is Trying to Pass a Dangerous Federal Concealed Carry Mandate. Here's How We Can Stop It." — a document aimed squarely at burying the Constitutional Carry Reciprocity Act before it reaches a floor vote.
Translation: "dangerous federal mandate" is Everytown PR-speak for legislation that lets any licensed concealed carrier exercise their Second Amendment rights across state lines without facing criminal charges the moment they cross a border.
Everytown didn't write this to inform. They wrote it to mobilize. The piece directs their donor base and allied activists to pressure specific Members of Congress to kill the bill in committee. This is the Bloomberg machine running a targeted kill operation — flooding Congressional offices with calls, emails, and in-person lobbying coordinated out of New York and Washington.
Here's what they fear: reciprocity works. More than forty states already recognize some form of carry reciprocity with their neighbors. Law-abiding citizens with clean records and proper training cross state lines every single day. The only parties this bill inconveniences are anti-gun state governments — New York, California, New Jersey, Illinois — that built permit systems deliberately designed to price out and paper-shuffle ordinary Americans out of their constitutional rights.
Everytown's central argument holds that a Georgia or Texas carry permit shouldn't be honored in New York. Consider what that actually means: your constitutional right vanishes at a state line. You can be arrested for carrying legally in your home state the moment you drive through a tunnel.
They dress this up as a "states' rights" argument. It isn't. No state holds the authority to nullify a constitutional protection. That logic doesn't apply to the First Amendment or the Fourth. It doesn't apply to the Second.
Everytown's activists are burning up Congressional phone lines right now. The bill is on the table. The kill operation is already running.
**What you need to do today:** Call your U.S. Representative and both Senators. Tell them you support national concealed carry reciprocity and you are watching their vote. Find their numbers at house.gov and senate.gov — it takes three minutes. Make sure your voice is louder than Bloomberg's lobbyists.
