18 2A Petitions. SCOTUS Granted 1—Then Dodged Both Gun Questions

The Court cherry-picked the one non-gun question in the one petition it granted. The other 17? Left to rot on the conference table.

Eighteen Second Amendment cert petitions landed on the SCOTUS conference table. The justices granted exactly one — and then performed a surgical dodge: that petition contained three questions, two of them direct 2A issues, and the Court granted only the single question that had nothing to do with guns.

That's not a coincidence. **That's a strategy.**

The remaining 17 petitions? No grants. Nothing. Gun owners who've watched this Court sidestep Second Amendment cases since *Bruen* dropped in 2022 know exactly what this looks like — and it isn't a Court eager to protect your rights.

Circuit courts across the country are already doing the dirty work. They're watering down *Bruen*'s historical-tradition standard, distinguishing it into irrelevance, and in some cases outright defying it. Every conference that passes without a clean 2A grant is another gift to those circuits — more time to stack bad precedent, more time for those rulings to harden into the law gun owners actually live under.

**Because here's what gets buried in the SCOTUS coverage:** The Supreme Court is the headline, but the circuits are where your rights die quietly. Most gun owners will never see the inside of One First Street. They'll see the Ninth. The Fourth. The Second. And right now, those courts are running wild.

Every conference without action is a green light.

Watch the docket obsessively — the next conference could change everything or confirm the worst. And if your senators have any say in the next round of judicial confirmations at the circuit level, they need to hear from you. Because *Bruen* means nothing if the courts below it refuse to follow it, and right now, they largely don't.

**SCOTUS had 18 shots to fix that. It blinked.**

We'll be tracking every 2A petition on the docket. Stay locked in — because the next conference could be the one that finally forces the Court's hand, or the one that proves the dodge is permanent.
