WTF News (wtfnews.tv) is operated by We The Free Network. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
Information We Collect
We collect minimal information necessary to operate the service:
- Email address — when you subscribe to the WTF Daily Brief newsletter. This is stored with Mailchimp and used solely to send you the daily digest and relevant updates.
- Comments — if you submit a comment on a story, we collect your display name, optional US state, and the text of your comment. Comments are publicly visible.
- Usage data — Netlify (our hosting provider) may collect standard server logs including IP addresses and browser type for security and operational purposes. We do not use this data for tracking or advertising.
How We Use Your Information
- Email addresses are used exclusively to send the WTF Daily Brief and network updates from We The Free. We do not sell, rent, or share your email with third parties.
- Comment data is displayed publicly on the site as submitted.
- We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes.
- We do not run ads on WTF News. We The Free Network does not allow advertisers to use your data.
Email Subscriptions
Your email subscription is managed through Mailchimp. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by contacting us at info@wtf.tv. Mailchimp's privacy policy is available at mailchimp.com/legal/privacy.
Third-Party Services
WTF News uses the following third-party services to operate:
- Netlify — hosting and serverless functions. Privacy policy

- Google Fonts — typography (Inter, DM Serif Display). Privacy policy
Data Retention
Email subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Story archive data is retained for 90 days. Comments are retained indefinitely unless you request removal. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting info@wtf.tv.
Children's Privacy
WTF News is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy periodically. Significant changes will be noted at the top of this page with a revised date. Continued use of WTF News after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
